Questions About Superintendent's Salary Should Be Answered

I have read with senior citizen taxpayer interest the questions posed on WEGO Web relative to adjustments to income and benefits given to the District 33 Superintendent at a recent Board of Education Meeting.

I have also found the non-answers put forth by the District 33 Board President and one other member of the Board of Education humorous but not responsive.

If I may be so bold I would suggest that the Board of Education at District 33 look back on WEGO Web and digest the information contained there relative to the opinion of those participating in the 4 the People survey taken during Railroad Days. One portion of this survey contained the question; “Are the following doing the best they can with the tax dollars they get?”.

For those that can’t find the results or are too disinterested to look 21.42% of the 280 surveyed said Yes that District 33 was doing the best they can. However, 50% said No and 28.58% said Maybe. Based on the fact that one out of every two people surveyed responded negatively about the District’s financial stewardship it might behoove the Board to be more direct in their response to legitimate questions concerning their actions.

Political and cavalier responses are not what one might expect from those selected to lead our educational programs.
