Last Communication to Parade Participants
  Thank you for your participation in our Heritage Days Parade scheduled for July 9th. The registration table will open at 11:00 AM; please check in and line-up by noon as the parade will step off promptly at 1:00 PM. To insure an enjoyable parade experience for all of us, your cooperation is needed and appreciated. Please follow the following “checklist” on parade day and all will go smoothly:
  • Car pool to site, parking will be limited
  • Check in at the registration table
  • BRING A COMPLETED WAIVER (DO NOT MAIL IT, TURN IT IN PARADE MORNING) ***
  • Bring all give-away items to registration table for approval.
  • Only HAND OUT give away items, DO NOT THROW ANYTHING INTO THE CROWD.
  • Leave all water devices at home. THE USE OF ALL WATER DEVICES IS PROHIBITED
  • Keep pace with the unit ahead of you.
  • At parades end keep moving down National and turn onto a side street before stopping.
  • Pick up all trash at your line-up site.
  • Review the parade guidelines sent to you with your application.
  • Any entry that portrays the City of West Chicago, West Chicago Fire Protection District, West Chicago Park District, organizing committee, Lions Club, employees, or individuals negatively or acts in a distributive matter will be pulled from the line up by the parade committee chairman.

*** It is going to be very congested at the end of the parade. We suggest that you arrange to meet parents either at your original line-up site, Turner School, or on any of the side streets running south off of National. Parade Units will not be allowed to stop on National Street
