Please be aware that numerous counterfeit bills (10's and 20's) have been
passed to local restaurants and grocery stores since last Monday. We believe
that the bills are being passed between 1200-1500 and 1900-2100 hours or during
times that businesses experience high customer volume. Should anyone come across
a suspicious bill, hold it up to the light to check for a magnetic strip and/or
test it with a counterfeit money marker. Please hold on to any counterfeit money
received and call 911 immediately. Also, if possible, a description of the
individual passing the counterfeit bills would be very helpful. We recommend
checking every bill $10 and over with a counterfeit money marker.
