Monday, September 11, 2006 is the 5th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the United States. Sister Cities of West Chicago is organizing a memorial service to be held at the Community High School Dist. 94 football field, on 9-11 at 7:00 p.m.

President Eisenhower started Sister Cities on September 11, 1956 when he convened his White House Conference on Citizen Diplomacy to promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, & cooperation - one individual, one community at a time.

Sister Cities International has joined with the September Concert Organization, which was formed in 2002 by a New Yorker who did not see the sky gray and sad, but sparkling and filled with color, that to her were clearly the sounds of music. Since then, as now, the mission of the September Concert is to bring people together to remember our loss, to reaffirm our hope for peace and our universal humanity.

So, when you join us on September 11th at 7:00, there will be a free concert too.
