West Chicago Museum hosts Local Vision, a photography exhibit

WEST CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, AUGUST 24, 2005 – Local Vision - a photography exhibit at the West Chicago City Museum incorporates the work of photographers working and living within West Chicago. The photographs depict a full range of subject matter that incorporate views within the community and from outside our borders. The exhibit runs from September 17, 2005 through April 29, 2006.

In the last issue of the city’s newsletter, News and Views, a call was put out to submit work for this exhibition and was met with great success. Residents contacted the museum with a desire to share their photos by having them displayed in the museum’s gallery.

The quality of photography came as no surprise to museum director LuAnn Bombard, who is familiar with many of the artists in town, but the photographs and snapshots by non-professionals have also proved to be a great example of careful framing and composition, culminating in a beautiful photography exhibit of diverse appeal. This Local Vision demonstrates the quality of art that is being produced by the citizens of West Chicago.

The museum is located at 132 Main Street, West Chicago, Illinois, 60185. Exhibit gallery hours are Tuesday – Friday 10:30-3:30 pm and Saturday 11 – 3 pm. An opening reception will be held Friday, September 16, 5 – 7pm. For information call the museum at 630-231-3376 or email museum@westchicago.org.
