Education Partners, good afternoon:
One bit of news today, but it’s a goody
All 17 District 303 schools made Adequate Yearly Progress as required and defined under the federal No Child Left Behind Act. Wredling Middle School will still have to allow students to transfer to other middle schools if they want, because a school must make AYP for two consecutive years. Wredling did not make AYP last year, so this is an especially-nice achievement for them. But transfers are not mandatory, and no one chose to transfer last year.
Wredling families received a Connect-ED phone call this morning about this achievement, and will be receiving letters in the next day or so explaining everything. Click here for more: http://www.d303.org/news/press/wredlingayp0805pr.htm
Finally, one more reminder: Superintendent of Schools Dr. Barbara Erwin will host a coffee from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2005 in the lower level conference room at the St. Charles Public Library, One South Sixth Ave., St. Charles. The community is invited to meet and talk with Dr. Erwin about any school district-related topic.
