The Wasco
Elementary School Fifth Grade Spirit Club sold “Freedom Band”
bracelets and raised and donated over $1,000 to a family whose father will
be returning to Iraq for a third tour of duty. The soldier in question
happens to be the son of Wasco secretary Candy Thoke. The Spirit Club
members placed a long distance phone call to the family and each classroom
is sending a large chart paper message to the family thanking them for their
sacrifice on behalf of the United States. Kudos for this terrific effort.
