Celebrating Successes in District #33 - Math Competition
On Saturday, January 22, 2005, West Chicago Middle School competed at the annual Marmion Mathematics Competition held at Marmion Academy in Aurora. The Middle School sent two teams to participate in the Division II competition (based on the school's student population), which included schools from Oswego, Aurora, Wheaton, Yorkville and West Chicago.
West Chicago Middle School student Anderson West received 1st in the individual competition at the 7th grade level.
In team competition, West Chicago Team 1 tied for 3rd place, and also received a 3rd place trophy in the overall competition, which is a combined total of team and individual scores.
Team 1 members are Anna Lane, Tu Nhi Le, Paige Lawless, Mariela Kruthoff, and Madeline Warkins. Team 2 participating students are Kim Kleczewski, Ashley Michnick, Jack McCormack, Anderson West, and Steven Duda.
