Association
Announces Alumni Scholarships
The Community High School Alumni Association is pleased to announce that they are offering two $1,500 scholarships for Community High School graduating seniors that are children of CHS alumni. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.0 and have at least one parent who is an alumnus.
Students will be judged upon the following criteria: 1) the extent of financial need including special individual or family circumstances; 2) participation in school and community activities and/or work experience; and 3) demonstrated strength of character and stated career goals. The award may be used for tuition, room and board, books, materials or fees for post-high school education leading to any degree or certification.
Applications are available in the Counseling Office at Community High School, 326 Joliet Street in West Chicago. Completed applications must be returned to Barbara Brennan in the Counseling Office by April 21, 2005. The names of the scholarship recipients will be announced at CHS Honors Night on June 3, 2005. The scholarship is being funded by the profits from the Alumni Centennial Homecoming Dance held last September.
