HEIDI COLLIANDER NAMED CHS
STUDENT OF THE MONTH FOR DECEMBER

Heidi Colliander has been chosen Community High School Student of the Month for December.

Heidi has been a member of FBLA for four years. She served as Chapter President for FBLA during her junior and senior years and is currently the State Parliamentarian for that organization. In addition to FBLA, Heidi has been a member of the Student Council all four years here at Community High School. She held the office of class vice president her sophomore and junior years, and is the current Parliamentarian of the Student Council Executive Board. Heidi also was a member of the SADD program freshman through junior years. Heidi was a volunteer for Operation Snowball freshman and sophomore years, and Snowflurry her junior year.

Heidi's academic record is strong. She has been on the High Honor Roll all four years and was chosen a member of the National Honor Society in her junior year. Heidi has also been honored as an Illinois State Scholar. During her junior year, Heidi was an exchange student to Costa Rica.

In athletics, Heidi participated in volleyball and softball her freshman and sophomore years, and was a member of the swim team during her junior and senior years. As a result of her hard work, Heidi received Academic All Conference honors for swimming in her senior year.

Heidi plans on continuing her education at either the University of Iowa or Northwestern. Upon the completion of her undergraduate studies, Heidi would like to enter medical school and specialize in pediatrics. She will be acknowledged at the January 18, 2005 meeting of the CHS District 94 Board of Education; her photograph will be exhibited in the CHS Student of the Month display through the end of the school year. Heidi, a West Chicago resident, is the daughter of Ron and Kathleen Colliander.
