In the weeks leading up to the Democratic DuPage Blue Fest, signs point to a healthy turn out in this once reliable Republican stronghold. An exciting Democratic nominee and Illinois native-son Barack Obama, in conjunction with tough economic and tumultuous international times, has prompted a surge of new activity in DuPage. Executive Director of the DuPage Democratic Party, Amy Tauchman, states that “you would not believe how many different kinds of people, of all races and backgrounds and ages, come into our office everyday looking to see if they can help. Many of these people say they have never been involved in politics before, and want to help further Democratic platforms and work for Obama.”
