     Clarence J. “Merk” Kyger, age 82, of West Chicago, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Central DuPage Hospital. He was born on October 17, 1925 in Sterling, Illinois to Harry and Jesse Kyger. Clarence “Merk” proudly served in the US Air Force during WWII completing 35 missions. On December 27, 1947 he was united in marriage to Leah “Faye” Bogott. Mr. Kyger was a physical education instructor and coach for 35 years at West Chicago High School and West Chicago Middle School. He was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed fishing, bird watching and loved being with his family.

     Claudia Ann (Dorothy “Honey”) Honeyman Hanson, 79, passed away peacefully in her son’s home in Grain Valley, MO Saturday evening March 22, 2008. She was born in Cicero, IL on March 18, 1929, the oldest of the eleven children of Claude Charles and Alice Ann (Pouzar) Honeyman.

     Evaristo “Louie” Moreno, age 70, of West Chicago, passed away Tuesday February 26, 2008.

     
Cecil A. Bruce, age 88, of West Chicago, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008. He was born on June 21, 1919 in Omaha, Illinois to Herman and Carrie Bruce. Cecil was a decorated WWII US Army Veteran. He received several medals while in the Army which included 3 Overseas Service Bars, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon w/4 Bronze Battle Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Silver Star Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

     This seminar brings together some of the top researchers working with EAB to help arborists, land managers and educators make decisions about management.

Visitation Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at St. John the Baptist Church, 0S233 Church, Winfield. Mass 10 a.m.

Interment private.

     Alfred P. Bree, of West Chicago, age 97, passed away February 1, 2008 at Aurora Rehab Living Centre in Aurora.

     Deacon Harry A. Sheaffer, age 76, of St. Mary’s Parish in West Chicago, passed away January 21, 2008. Deacon Harry was ordained on September 13, 1997 for the Archdiocese of Joliet.

     Visitation Sunday, January 20, 2008 from 2 to 7 PM at Norris-Walen Funeral Home (Ronald T. Segert-Director), 132 Fremont St., West Chicago, Lying-in-state on Monday, January 21, 2008 from 9 AM until time of service at 10 AM at the First United Methodist Church, 643 E.
