     The CHS District 94 Education Foundation is working hard to provide additional learning opportunities for high school students in West Chicago, Carol Stream, Warrenville, Wheaton and Winfield that are not within the District’s regular budget.

     CHS District #94 is inviting the community to Family Events Day on Sunday October 12th. There are many events for people of all ages!

     The Education Foundation of Community High School District 94 in West Chicago is planning a series of events to celebrate Homecoming, 2008 - October 10-12.

     According to the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), Community High School District 94 is required to notify you of our status in making Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). Community High School District 94 has not met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for the past two consecutive years as determined by student performance on the Prairie State Achievement Exam (PSAE) given yearly to Junior students in April.

     Does your teen know what his future holds? Will she attend college after graduation? If so, what will she major in? Or maybe he plans to start working full-time after high school. But where? Doing what? Community High School is giving your teen the opportunity to shadow a professional in that dream job of his/hers on Friday, November 7th.

     Don't let them miss this wonderful opportunity! Have your teen pick up a CAREER EXPLORATION DAY APPLICATION in the Guidance Office (or print out the attached application form) and turn it in to Mrs. Peach's mailbox or bring to Room 150 ASAP.

     Hurry, applications are due October 1st and space is limited to the first 50 students.

     Community High School District 94 is proud to introduce its new certified staff members for the 2008/09 school year. Boasting a combined 47 years of experience in the educational field, we look forward to the impact that these new Wildcats will have on our students.

     Community High School District 94 taxpayers will save $1,306,069.44 in principal and interest payments through the successful sale of $13,115,000 General Obligation Refunding Bonds, Series 2008. The bonds were originally purchased in 1997 after the successful referendum (November 1997) for an addition to the building, renovation of mechanical systems, new technology and relocation of the athletic stadium.

     The Board of Education has initiated a search for a new superintendent for Community High School District 94 in West Chicago. To provide counsel in this important process, the Board has retained the services of Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, Ltd., a search firm that specializes in assisting boards with the identification and selection of superintendents.
