Springfield, IL – “Once again politics as usual ruled the day in Illinois as Gov. Blagojevich and the Democrat leaders in the legislature failed to pass a state budget by the May 31 deadline,” said state Sen. Randy Hultgren (R-Wheaton). “As budget negotiations continue in the coming days and weeks, I look forward to the opportunity of working with my colleagues on the other side of the aisle to develop a budget that meets our current financial obligations before creating new programs, helping Illinois to live within its means.”
