She was a member and past President of America Legion Women Auxiliary Post 300 and waitress at the Friday night Fish Fry. She enjoyed being a member of the West Chicago Historical Society and docent at the Kruse House Museum. She was a founding member and Secretary to the Fox Community Center, a member of Community Coordinating Center, a member of Railroad Day Committee, Girl Scout leader, Welcome Wagon, Methodist Sunday School teacher, and the Friends of the West Chicago Library. She was active in the community helping out where she was needed. She was the former Secretary of the West Chicago Chamber of Commerce and former dedicated employee of the Norris-Walen Funeral Home for over 20 years. She loved her family, her friends and her Community.
Theresa is survived by her husband Edward Czajka whom she married on May 7, 1949, five children: Catherine (George) Dobrowski of Texas, Steve Czajka of Montgomery, Tom (Judy) Czajka of St. Charles, Peggy aka Marguerite Czajka of Warrenville, and Mike (Kim) Czajka of Murphysboro, 6 grandchildren: Dana (Kiva) Patten, Beth (Shawn) Boedecker, Michelle Dobrowski, Krystin Czajka, Ashley Czajka, and Tom Czajka, and one great-grandson, Jason Boedecker. She is also survived by her brother George (Gloria) Luzadder, and sister Marion (Bill) Bell. Her parents, her sister Corrine Scelonge and her brother, Charles Luzadder, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2008 from 3 to 9 PM at Norris-Walen Funeral Home (Ronald T. Segert-Director), 132 Fremont St., West Chicago (One block north of Washington St. & Main St). Funeral services Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Rev. Patrick Skinner officiating. Interment Glen Oak Cemetery in West Chicago.
