STUDENT OF THE MONTH - SARAH PIERPOINT

     One teacher describes Sarah as, “a very mature individual who is extremely focused on what needs to be done. She has an admirable work ethic. She is reliable, dependable, and a hard worker. She is a very pleasant young lady and a pleasure to work with in class.”

     Much of Sarah’s extra curricular involvement has been in dance production, where she has excelled. Sarah has performed in the CHS dance production shows all four years, while attending the semester long physical education class during her school day. She is an exceptionally talented dancer and choreographer and she inspires many of the other students in class. She willingly gives extra time outside of class rehearsing to make the show a success. During second semester, Sarah and the dance production class have had the opportunity to perform at the Fox Valley Dance Festival; attend the Northern Illinois University Theatre Arts Workshop and the Illinois High School Dance Festival. She has also been involved in Pep Club and Poms for the past three years and Key Club her junior year. Sarah was chosen as a captain of Poms her senior year.

     Academically, Sarah is a member of the National Honor Society and Foreign Language Honors Society. She also has been designated an Illinois State Scholar. She has received a Math Award for the past three years.

     Sarah’s community involvement includes volunteer work at the DuPage Convalescent Center, the fall festival at the NPCC, and she has helped out the City of West Chicago with leaf raking in the fall. After graduation, she plans to attend either Illinois Wesleyan or Millikin University and major in elementary education with a minor in Spanish and dance.
