Bob Peickert and Michelle Barton were elected this last Wednesday at the Democratic County Convention which was, for the first time, attended by upwards of 300 people. 215 of those in attendance were the actual electors who cast over 24,000 votes for the slate which emerged out of Operation: Turn DuPage Blue. Their opponents, Rob BIsceglie and Chris Hotckin received about 17, 500 votes. Bob Jeffers, the long-standing treasurer of the organization agreed to stay on regardless of which group was victorious and was swept in by acclamation at the meeting at the Wheaton Community Center auditorium.
Next week, Bob Peickert and Michelle Barton have invited members of the previous board and new members of their proposed cabinet to get together to make a smooth transition and discuss the future of the organization. Rob Bisceglie has been asked to serve in a new position established by Peickert and voted on by the conventioneers under the title "Immediate Past Chair". Mr Bisceglie was supportive of this move and accepted the invitation to share his expertise with the new leaders.
