State Rep. Randy Ramey (R-Carol Stream) brought in more than 1,900 coats from his annual coat drive that benefits needy families in his district.
"The holidays are a perfect time to think of others and help those who are less fortunate in the community," Ramey said. "Residents were very generous this year and used this local charitable event to help out so many that will truly appreciate such a necessary gift."
This year's event was a big success as residents donated more than 1,900 much needed winter items for individuals and families within the 55th District. The drive accumulated 400 more items in comparison to last year's event. Ramey said the success was based on the help and donations from administrators, parents, and the children of the school districts.
