Eighteen posters were submitted by District 33 fifth and sixth grade students as entries to the Lions Club International Peace Poster Contest. Poster entries were placed on display at the West Chicago Lions Club Pancake Breakfast at West Chicago Middle School on Sunday, November 4, 2007. Approximately 300 community members cast their vote for the poster that best represented the 2007 theme "Peace Around the World".
The winner was poster number 15, created by Pioneer 6th grade student Jobana Paramo. Jobana has taken the first step to becoming an internationally recognized artist by winning the local community competition. Jobana will be invited to attend a Lions Club meeting where she will be recognized and receive a $100 savings bond. Jobana's poster will represent the West Chicago Lions Club at the district level, the next level of the international contest. Jobana's quote on peace is, "Peace is only about love and kindness...but, that can only come from your heart."

The grand prize includes a cash award of $2,500, plus a trip for the winner and two family members to New York City, New York for the awards ceremony at Lions Day with the United Nations.
